The Kulp K16 Pro PB2i is a fully assembled controller cape for the PocketBeagle 2, enabling direct operation of WS281x LED pixels without requiring soldering or setup.
This ready-to-run package supports 16 local output ports, each driving up to 800 pixels at 40 FPS with power injection. Ports are organized into banks accommodating 5V to 24V inputs with a 5 amp capacity per string.
Expansion capabilities include four RJ45 differential ports providing 16 additional strings, plus an RS485 output for DMX, PixelNet, Renard, or LOR protocols. System status displays via an onboard OLED screen with navigation buttons, supported by a temperature sensor, voltage sensors, and a Real Time Clock (RTC).
Network connectivity utilizes a Gigabit Ethernet port (operating near 300 Mb/s via USB2) and a powered USB-A port. Because of the board's USB pinout, a specialized USB extension cable is included to ensure compatibility with WiFi adapters and reduce signal interference from internal components.
